🧑🏫 Positional play exercise to work on building out from the back. In an octagon shape, the goalkeeper, centerbacks, fullbacks, and two central midfielders must find a way to progress forward when being pressed by five players.
This is a game-related situation which we could encounter during the weekend. The team in possession must find the free player in the field to progress.
🔴 If the defending (black) team presses and recovers the ball, they can quickly counterattack into the big goal.
🧐 Progress this exercise by adding another player on the black (pressing) team - making it that the only free player is the goalkeeper, and he must therefore attract a defender to free up someone else.
- Add more players on the white team and make the space bigger.
- Place the mini-goals on the outside so that the progression must occur in the half or wide channels.
