🎥 Real Sociedad Training Exercise - Small Sided Game 4:4+3 (two zones)
🧑🏫 In the first zone of the grid a 4 (green) vs. 4 (orange) + 3 neutrals (orange) is played. The team in possession must circulate the ball and try to link-up with their teammates in the other zone in the form of progression. The same game scenario (4:4+3) is then played out in the other zone.
🔍 The middle neutral is the key player as it is with him that the team must look to play with in order to progress. He has the option of controlling with the far foot and playing a diagonal pass to the other side, or be the target to create third-man play and combine short/long.
🎯 Of course offensive objectives are being worked on, but we can also emphasize defensive aspects like closing the middle channel, not allowing the team to play away from pressure, and closing down passing lanes.
🏟️ Make sure the space is more long than wide as this grid design will further provoke deep passes in order to progress.
