FIFA World Cup - Morocco Defensive Phase Low Block

๐Ÿšจ๐Ÿ“ Time to analyze Morocco's defensive approach at this past World Cup which took them all the way to the Semi-Finals making them the first African team to do so. Most notably, Morocco implemented a zonal defensive marking system which included keeping the lines tight both horizontally and vertically making inside passes for the opponent to be very difficult, pressure points for when the ball went out wide to the Portuguese fullbacks and wingers, having numerical advantage (2v1) against Cristiano Ronaldo, and finally protecting "Zone 14" which is located in front of the box by accumulating players in that space.
