📝 In a recent interview, FC Barcelona head coach Xavi Hernández stated that it is becoming increasingly harder to play out of the back at the top level due to teams implementing man-markings in advanced zones of the pitch. He recognized that before, only a few teams including the notorious Rayo Vallecano side coached by Paco Jémez would take such a defensive approach. He finishes by expressing that it is difficult to progress upfield with the ball under control when there is no free player on the pitch.
